[Case Study] Proposed a PC for comfortable game development during the four years of study.
From a student's perspective, how high-spec does a machine need to be?
We would like to introduce a case study of Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) implementing MSI gaming laptops. In recent years, game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity have become more accessible, making it essential to provide an environment where all students can comfortably run game engines. Therefore, we pursued PC specifications that would allow Unreal Engine to run smoothly throughout the "four years" of their studies, and we have provided students with custom models of the 'KATANA GF66 Series' and 'STEALTH 15M Series' tailored for KCG. **Results** - A comfortable game development environment was established without concerns about specifications. - We have a supportive system in place, including annual explanatory meetings for students about specifications and on-site consultations to answer student questions, ensuring they can use the equipment with peace of mind during their studies. *For more details, please see the "Link to the case study article."*
basic information
【Case Overview】 <Challenges> ■ It was necessary to establish a foundation that allows everyone to work in an optimal environment. ■ We want students to focus on game development without worrying about the specifications of their computers. <Implementation> ■ In line with the evolving game development environment each year, we determine specifications through detailed discussions with MSI annually. ■ At the introduction event for new students, MSI representatives provide thorough explanations, covering everything from the basics of individual parts to the importance of heat dissipation. ■ While purchasing is not mandatory, approximately 80% of students end up making a purchase. *For more details, please refer to the "Link to Case Study Article."
