[New Coronavirus] ◆ PCR Testing with Automated Preprocessing System ◆ Started in July 2022 ~ Introduction of a unique automated preprocessing system using collaborative robots for PCR testing ~ By automating processes in PCR testing that carry infection risks, we protect testers from infection risks and reduce their workload. This system also considers the avoidance of cross-contamination and ensures traceability. The Materials Science and Technology Promotion Foundation, a general incorporated foundation, has introduced a unique automated preprocessing system using collaborative robots and will commence PCR testing for the new coronavirus using this system starting in July. The system being introduced was planned and devised by MST, which undertakes PCR testing as a hygiene testing laboratory, with the aim of protecting testers from infection risks and reducing their workload. The design and production were commissioned to Yamato Scientific Co., Ltd., and the automation of the PCR testing preprocessing process is realized using the collaborative robot COBOTTA® manufactured by DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
