LED Downlight for Plant Cultivation - Red
Red LED downlights that can replace incandescent bulbs as lighting for horticultural crops, using existing equipment.
Kabe Clear Original Red LED Downlight for Cultivation "DELED PLANTS" is a red LED downlight developed for cultivation. ◆ Established practical utilization technology for horticultural crops in collaboration with public research institutions ◆ Accumulated overwhelming know-how based on actual usage examples from producers across the country ◆ High brightness High Power LED with a 165° beam angle, resulting in minimal illumination unevenness between fixtures ◆ Certified with IP66 for dust and water protection suitable for the environment of facility horticulture ◆ LED wavelengths can be selected according to applications, such as controlling the growth, flowering, and fruiting of horticultural crops
basic information
Effectiveness of LED Light Sources The distribution of light energy intensity by wavelength is referred to as spectral energy distribution, which varies depending on the light source, and its characteristics are called light quality. Plant growth is influenced by both the quality and intensity of light. LEDs can efficiently emit specific light qualities and, compared to other light sources such as incandescent bulbs and fluorescent lamps, they are energy-saving, produce less heat, and have a long lifespan. This suggests their potential as a light source to promote photosynthesis, regulate flowering, improve quality, and control pests and diseases in horticultural crops. Nabe Kiyo Co., Ltd. is conducting joint research with the Aichi Prefectural Agricultural Research Center, using various horticultural crops to carry out illumination tests with LEDs of different light qualities, and we propose effective utilization techniques for profitable prosperity in practical applications.

★Chrysanthemum In the Atsumi Peninsula of Aichi Prefecture, over 10,000 bulbs have been introduced. We are collecting data on utilization technologies such as intermittent electric lighting that cannot be achieved with incandescent bulbs or fluorescent lights, and we can provide proposals that will help reduce fixed costs for producers introducing LEDs in the future. ★Perilla The short-day plant perilla is very sensitive to light!? Depending on the light quality, flower bud differentiation can be suppressed with just about 2 lux of light. Currently, perilla producers are demonstrating in model houses that they can expect to recover the initial costs of LED introduction in just over a year. Strawberries, roses, carnations, lisianthus, tomatoes, and grapes are being utilized in electric lighting cultivation across the country. With the cooperation of farmers, we are uploading performance information and photos to Facebook, so please take a look. Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/nabesei.kaihatu
Detailed information
-
Tomato Tomato farmers in Kumamoto Prefecture have started using red LEDs as supplemental lighting in areas with poor sunlight conditions in greenhouses, allowing them to achieve growth similar to areas with good sunlight conditions. Currently, farmers in Aichi Prefecture are also conducting ongoing tests for implementation.
-
Strawberry Among producers who cultivate varieties that require supplemental lighting, many use incandescent bulbs of 40W to 60W, but some have started switching to fluorescent lights. In the results of the lighting tests we conducted at testing institutions and producer fields, fluorescent lights showed different light quality compared to incandescent bulbs, resulting in an inability to maintain the revival of the plants and yielding weak effects. For producers in mountainous areas with poor sunlight conditions, utilizing 9W red LEDs as supplemental lighting has significantly increased yields.
-
Carnations There are differences in lighting effects between varieties, but in mid-late and late varieties (candle types), the growth promotion effect is significantly evident. It has a supplementary lighting effect in cases of unfavorable weather and poor sunlight conditions.
