Thrust angular ball bearings use balls as rolling elements, resulting in a smaller starting torque compared to roller bearings. Therefore, the driving force of the ball screw can be set to a lower level. The BST type utilizes as many small balls as possible compared to standard bearings, with thicker inner and outer rings, and a large contact angle of 60°, which increases the axial rigidity of the bearing. *This bearing (2A-BST type: open type) employs a resin-molded retainer. The sides of the bearing are all flash-ground, ensuring that the flatness difference between the front and back sides is the same. Therefore, bearings with the same designation number can be freely combined, such as DB, DBT, DTBT, etc., eliminating the need for adjustment work to achieve appropriate preload. Additionally, regardless of the combination used in the ball screw, the specified same flatness difference processing ensures that appropriate preload can be obtained, making complex preload adjustment work unnecessary, such as shim adjustments or tightening adjustments based on starting torque measurements.
