Powder metallurgy is a technology that involves compacting metal powders into the desired shape using molds and then sintering them at high temperatures just below the melting point to manufacture parts. Parts produced through powder metallurgy are generally referred to as sintered parts. Basic process The basic process consists of raw powder → mixing → forming → sintering. However, depending on the precision and conditions required by the customer, additional treatments such as sizing (recompression), steam treatment, plating, or carburizing may be performed.
