A new technology that allows the addition of a separate 100Mbps communication channel using conventional Mil-Std-1553 cables! Edgewater's Extended 1553 has been standardized as STANAG7221. It is a new technology that enables 100Mbps communication using existing MIL-STD-1553B wiring. It is compatible with existing MIL-STD-1553B and secures a separate 100Mbps communication channel. This technology is suitable for aircraft capability enhancement programs. Adoption is increasing in fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft in the U.S. and Europe. Demonstrations are available. Extended1553 is a new technology that enables communication at 100 Mbps using conventional MIL-STD-1553 cables.

The products include PMC cards and XMC cards. They operate in a conduction-cooled environment with a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Driver support is available for VxWorks and Linux.
