A new technology PMC card that enables the addition of a 100Mbps communication channel for STANAG 7221 using conventional MIL-STD-1553 cables.
Edgewater Inc. (Canada) has standardized the Extended 1553 as STANAG7221. This new technology enables 100Mbps communication using the existing wiring of MIL-STD-1553B. It can coexist with the existing MIL-STD-1553B without mutual interference, and a separate 100Mbps communication channel is secured. It is suitable for programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities of existing aircraft. Adoption is increasing in fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft in the U.S. and Europe.
