[Case Study of Problem Solving] Retention and powdering of aroma components in heat-sensitive liquids such as fragrances.
By adding a powdering agent to substances that are liquid at room temperature, such as spice oils, they can be handled as solids!
Our company utilizes the inclusion properties of cyclodextrin and, in collaboration with spray-drying technology, is able to microencapsulate liquids into powders. Until now, there have been challenges in adding liquid compounds to powders or resins to impart functionality, often due to poor mixing or incompatibility. As a solution, we prepare a slurry by encapsulating the liquid in cyclodextrin (CD) in water, and then dry it using a spray dryer (SD) to achieve powder form in a single process. This method allows heat-sensitive liquids, such as fragrances, to retain their aromatic components through the inclusion properties of CD and the low-temperature drying of SD. 【Benefits】 - Easier mixing and dispersion by adding a solid (powder) instead of a liquid - Expanded application range due to solidification - Capable of handling cyclodextrin inclusion (homogeneous mixer processing) - Small-scale testing is also possible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
