What is a float switch? Introducing its mechanism and usage! Proven results in various fields!\For control board development, go to Nippo!/
A float switch is a type of level switch that operates in response to changes in liquid level, using a float ball that floats on the surface of the liquid. Due to its simple structure, it is used in many places such as apartments, buildings, and factories. ■ Mechanism of Operation Inside the float, there is a magnet, and when the float approaches the reed switch, the contacts of the reed switch close, allowing the electrical circuit to conduct. Conversely, when the float moves away from the reed switch, the contacts of the reed switch open, cutting off the electrical circuit. By detecting the position of the float, which moves up and down according to the displacement of the liquid surface, the water level in the tank can be monitored. ■ Usage A stem (core rod) is fixed to the bottom or top of the tank, and it is connected to the electrical wires drawn from the reed switch. This electrical signal is used to control submersible pumps or valves. Recently, there are services that allow remote monitoring of the water level in tanks located in distant places via a web server, enabling users to understand the tank's condition from an office without having to visit the site.
