[Case Study] Change from HCr Plated Roll to Ceramic Coating

By applying ceramic thermal spraying to the surface of the metal roll, maintenance and production yield are improved!

We would like to introduce a case where the surface roughness equivalent to HCr plated rolls was reproduced using ceramic spraying and implemented in production maintenance. The customer faced a challenge where using metal rolls and HCr plated rolls resulted in defects in the produced products due to scratches on the roll surface, necessitating roll replacement work. As a result of the implementation, the new rolls were harder than HCr plated rolls, less prone to scratches, and did not produce burrs, leading to a reduction in defects in the products and a decrease in costs associated with roll replacement.
