It has been 30 years since I became involved in logistics. I have closely observed the evolution of logistics, supply chains, and related fields from both the perspective of my experience in logistics companies and my experience in business consulting. Over the past 30 years, logistics and supply chains have evolved at an accelerating pace. When I joined a logistics company as a new graduate, the operations were primarily manual (I personally gained practical experience as a charter driver for a 4-ton truck, a delivery driver for parcel collection, and a forklift operator in a warehouse). At that time, there was one computer per department rather than one per person, and operations were carried out almost entirely by hand, with forklifts being the only exception.
