[Case Study] Dew Point Measurement of Natural Gas and Atmosphere Inside Natural Gas Tanks
Introduction of a case where the internal dew point temperature was measured and used to confirm the replacement situation based on the trend of that value.
We will introduce a case where a "dew point meter" was implemented to measure the moisture content in gas and air, specifically for measuring the dew point of natural gas and the atmosphere inside natural gas tanks. Natural gas supplied in cold regions may freeze inside the piping due to low external temperatures, depending on the moisture content. To prevent freezing, measures are taken to reduce the moisture content as much as possible through moisture adsorption and removal during the natural gas refining process, and sensors are installed in the supply piping to continuously monitor the moisture content. Additionally, gas tanks used for storing and transporting natural gas are purged with N2 to prevent the risk of ignition and explosion from vaporized gas. The dew point temperature inside is measured, and the changes in this value are monitored to confirm the purging status.
