[Technical News vol.5] Proposal for VE of aluminum parts through material change
Significant improvements in delivery time, cost, and precision are possible with material changes!
Production equipment parts often have special surface treatments and precision machining applied to each individual component, resulting in a significantly high added value for each part, which is not uncommon compared to parts for products. However, on the other hand, there are many cases where high-specification requirements lead to the continued use of difficult-to-process materials from the past. In such cases, it is possible to improve QCD by replacing them with other materials currently available or new materials. [Case Study] ■ VE through material change of aluminum <Before (Work Condition, Material: A7075, Surface Treatment: None)> - Processing with A7075 tends to result in warping. - Rough machining and finishing are required, leading to increased costs. <After (Work Condition, Material: A6061, Surface Treatment: None)> - Adopted A6061, which is less prone to warping among aluminum materials. - Hardness slightly decreased, but machining costs were reduced. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
