CdSe Nanocrystals
Quantum dots/cadmium selenide nanocrystals
Cadmium selenide nanocrystals are well-known single-crystal semiconductor nanoparticles that function as quantum dots. The uniqueness of these quantum dots arises from the fact that their optical and electrical properties vary with particle size, and they offer flexible processing possibilities. The size of these quantum dots ranges from 2 to 7 nanometers, and they possess optical properties across the entire visible spectrum (from blue to red). Typical cadmium selenide quantum dots are inorganic semiconductors coated with organic ligands on their surfaces. These ligands enable the stability, solubility, and processability of these nanocrystals in solvents. Quantum dots absorb a wide range of light and emit limited light. This property allows for the emission of true colors at specific wavelengths when excited by a broad spectrum of light. The luminescent potential of quantum dots is determined by the quality and size distribution of the nanocrystals in the solvent.
