Development of Lithium-Ion Batteries "Semi-Solid Batteries" Using Special Polyethers
Our gel-like electrolyte using special polyether not only possesses high flexibility and elasticity but also combines lithium-ion conductivity equivalent to that of liquid electrolytes and high moisture retention. When used in semi-solid batteries, the suppression effect of gas generated from the decomposition of the electrolyte (a resistance component within the battery) enables longer battery life and rapid charging. Furthermore, it dramatically enhances safety by preventing thermal runaway due to overcharging or short circuits. In the future, we will establish a supply system for the mass production of semi-solid batteries, while also advancing practical development for further performance improvements, miniaturization, and scaling up, targeting a wide range of industrial applications from consumer electronics such as wearable devices to automotive batteries that require high safety standards.

Productization of "Antistatic Sheets for Electronic Component Manufacturing Processes" Using High-Performance Carbon Nanotubes.
Our company has jointly developed a new adhesive material using high-performance carbon nanotube dispersion with Sakase Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of medical cabinets, carts, and resin molding processing. This product has been commercialized as an "antistatic sheet for electronic component manufacturing processes." The product enables light transmission from both sides and allows for the detection of objects on the backside, making it compatible with various image recognition and detection methods. It particularly contributes to the automation of inspection processes for electronic and precision components and reduces acceptance time. In the future, our company will promote consistent manufacturing from the synthesis of CNTs to dispersion liquids, advance market development focused on high-value-added applications, and concentrate on material development that meets the demands for high performance and lightweight materials for electronic components and peripheral materials, including semiconductors, in line with the spread of AI, IoT, and 5G.
