The "Model 66" is a diaphragm coupling that absorbs misalignment of the rotational axis through the elastic deformation of an extremely thin metal diaphragm. To transmit maximum torque, the diaphragm has high torsional rigidity, while being specially shaped to be soft against bending and compression.
