basic information
**Background and Purpose of Using Beds in Evacuation Shelters** In evacuation shelters during disasters, using beds is recommended instead of sleeping on cardboard or mats. The reason is to prevent secondary disasters caused by dust. During the day, dust is stirred up by people's activities in the shelter. At night, when activities cease, the dust gradually settles and lingers in the 0-30 cm zone. If people sleep on the floor, they may inhale the settled dust, which raises concerns about negative effects on the bronchial system. On the other hand, using beds allows for the avoidance of inhaling settled dust, and the evacuation shelter association advocates against sleeping on the floor. By adopting this product in disaster evacuation shelters, we also contribute to preventing health hazards for evacuees. *For more details about the product, please feel free to check by clicking the "PDF Download" button.*
