Rockwell hardness testing machine (compliant with DIN EN ISO 6508)
The QATM Rockwell hardness testing machine is a high-performance testing device that combines thoughtful design with cutting-edge technology.
The detailed setting functions enable safe, simple, and quick operations. Equipped with the latest software and interface, it allows for automation of operations to reduce testing time and is designed to be easily integrated into any laboratory. It supports a wide pressure range and can conduct Rockwell hardness tests on various test materials.
basic information
In 1907, Ludwig of Austria proposed the idea of determining material hardness from the depth of the indentation made by a diamond cone indenter. However, to put this into practical use, it was necessary to devise a method to eliminate the influence of the surface characteristics of the sample by applying a preliminary load. It was not until 1922 that Stanley P. Rockwell of the United States successfully developed a practical testing method by advancing Ludwig's technical concept. The Rockwell hardness test quickly spread throughout the industry due to its simplicity.
