Resin, plastic materials PVT measurement

Predicting molding shrinkage, warping, etc. during the molding process! Providing necessary information for mold design.

In "PVT measurement," the relationship between pressure (P), specific volume (V), and temperature (T) of the resin in its molten to solid state is measured. A sample is placed in a heated sample tube within the furnace, and the molten sample is pressurized using a piston. The displacement of the piston due to the volume change of the sample is measured to determine the pressure and temperature changes of the specific volume (the inverse of density).
