A Rotork IQ actuator has been installed at the sewage treatment plant's pump station in Hong Kong. The IQ actuator was installed to electrify existing manual valves and is equipped with intelligent features. Approximately 50 actuators have been installed for valve operation. The IQ actuators, equipped with IB multi-turn gearboxes, are used for site penstocks and gate valves, while the IQM actuators, which are the modulating model of IQ3, are installed in balancing tanks and gas systems. The IQM incorporates a solid-state reversible starter, allowing for quicker responses to changes in position signals. Additionally, this solid-state starter adds a "brake" function to the electric motor, optimizing position control. The IQ intelligent actuators have high sealing performance against external environments, featuring a double-sealed housing (IP66 or 68), making them ideal for pump station applications. The IQ actuators are characterized by high-reliability absolute encoders and an intuitive UI, making them the selected actuators for highly automated valve operations.
