Rotork's electric actuators control the sluice gates at a sewage treatment plant (STP) in Australia. The third-generation IQ multi-turn electric actuators are installed on eight sluice gates, regulating the flow of sewage entering the sewage treatment plant in Murrumba Downs, a suburb in Queensland, Australia. The end user, Unitywater, chose Rotork products to automate the opening and closing of the sluice gates. Previously, operators had to use stairs to approach the gates and operate them manually. To enhance safety on site, several IQ3 actuators installed at the Murrumba Downs site were equipped with RHS, allowing workers to operate the valves safely from the field. The RHS features the same display and control interface as the IQ3, enabling operation and configuration from up to 100 meters away from the actuator. It can supply 24VDC power from the connected actuator, eliminating the need for an auxiliary power source. Additionally, the RHS can be mounted on columns or walls.
