The Rotork electric multi-turn actuator IQ3 has been installed at the world's largest (planned) waste incineration power plant located in Bao'an District, Shenzhen, China. This actuator is intended to be used at the aforementioned power plant, which is scheduled to start operations in 2020, for operating gate valves, globe valves, butterfly valves, ball valves, and even dampers. Additionally, it has been installed not only in process plants such as waste heat boilers but also in gas control, water treatment, and public pipeline systems. The latest IQ actuators feature an advanced dual-stack display with a configurable data logger and a Bluetooth-enabled setting device, reflecting technical improvements. The actuator's settings and commissioning adjustments can be performed using the Rotork Bluetooth setting device, and data can also be transferred to a PC for analysis (using diagnostic software called Rotork Insight 2). The data logger used in the IQ collects and stores various data, including torque distribution, number of starts, and logs of vibrations and temperatures. All data is stored in non-volatile EEPROM.
