Cimatron, being a CAD/CAM software developed by 3D Systems, the creator of STL, has a high affinity for STL data and possesses a mechanism that allows collaboration regardless of the analysis software manufacturer. For example, with point cloud data, it is possible to specify the edge length of the triangular mesh and convert it into mesh surface data, allowing for partial addition or deletion of facets while ensuring a certain level of accuracy. In areas where you want to maintain curves, it is also possible to use splines to preserve smooth curves. Furthermore, since it is possible to integrate the modeled shape with the mesh, the range of applications expands. The completed data can be directly used to create NC machining programs, and it is also possible to make model modifications while comparing with the original model.
