Twelve trainees from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), who came from South America and Africa, visited Sansin Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for a study tour on July 25. Our company has been hosting JICA study tours for many years. The purpose of this training is to strengthen the support capabilities for small and medium-sized enterprises through quality and productivity improvement (Kaizen), focusing on how to implement 5S and Kaizen. We hope that our company's initiatives can serve as a reference for the trainees' countries as an example of the efforts made by Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises.

We are pleased to announce that Sanshin Seisakusho Co., Ltd. has established the "Sanshin RCS East Japan Satellite," a base for our ion exchange machine collection and regeneration service, in Tokyo. Our collection and regeneration service business has reached its 40th anniversary this year since we opened the "Resource Center" in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, as the first in Japan in 1976. To address the increased processing capacity due to the growing number of customers, we updated our regeneration facilities in March of this year, achieving high functionality by reducing and recycling the water and chemicals used during regeneration. Additionally, to respond to our customers' requests for shorter lead times from collection to regeneration and return, we have decided to establish the "Sanshin RCS East Japan Satellite" in Tokyo to cover the East Japan region, which is a hub for our customers, as part of the nationwide expansion of our collection and regeneration service business. Sansin Manufacturing Co., Ltd. received certification from Aichi Prefecture for the FY 2015 Leading and Effective Emission Reduction Facility Development Project and carried out upgrades to the "Resource Recovery Center," starting a resource recovery system business with new equipment in April 2016. The "Resource Recovery Center" was established in 1976 with the aim of recovering and reusing metals contained in wastewater from the plating process. It collects and regenerates over 6,000 canister-type ion exchange machines annually for customers nationwide, with a cumulative regeneration record exceeding 250,000 units by the end of March 2016. The collection and regeneration of ion exchange resins use a significant amount of water and chemicals, resulting in the generation of multiple heavy metal-containing waste sludges. Based on the extensive know-how accumulated from years of operating the Resource Recovery Center system, the new equipment has significantly advanced standardization and automation, achieving reductions in regeneration agents through regeneration operations suitable for ion exchange resins used in various applications, as well as resource recovery and waste sludge reduction through the establishment of optimal separation procedures from regenerated waste liquids.

We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred on April 14 and 16, 2016. At Sansin Manufacturing Co., Ltd., we promptly sent relief supplies to our customers in the disaster-stricken areas, but even two months later, aftershocks continue, and recovery is still ongoing. Recently, we received a letter of thanks for our support from a customer in the affected area, along with a "Kumamoto Earthquake Photo Collection" and "Kumamon," which has become a symbol of Kumamoto's recovery.
