Garnet is a mineral belonging to the silicate mineral group, with a high hardness of 6.5 - 7.5 on the Mohs scale (diamond/10). It is an ideal abrasive for applications such as sandblasting, air blasting, water jet cutting, and sandpaper. Garnet has many industrial applications, including the adjustment of aluminum and other soft metals. It is also useful for deburring in welding, grinding and polishing optical lenses, manufacturing scratch-free semiconductor materials, and finishing and anti-slip coatings for hard rubber, plastic, and wood products. In the oil industry, it has become one of the major industries used for cleaning drill pipes and casings.
basic information
Product specifications and the chemical composition of garnet are as follows: - SiO2 / 42.20% - FeO / 34.58% - Al2O3 / 19.01% - MgO / 2.89% - CaO / 1.01% - TiO2 / 0.13% - Others / 0.18% - Hardness / 7.6 - 8.3 - Ratio / 4.1 It is a high-density and hard mineral, and due to its non-angular shape, it generates little dust without fine grinding after projection. Being a natural mineral, it helps to reduce environmental pollution, ensures worker safety, and allows for easy disposal after use.
