【BOURNS】Small Overheat Protection Device SE Series

BOURNS new product: minimum surface mount type 54V compact thermal cutoff overheating protection device.

The SE series is currently the industry's smallest 54V SMD breaker, with a footprint size of 4.7mm x 2.8mm and a height of just 1.23mm. The trip temperatures for the SE series are 72℃, 77℃, 82℃, and 85℃ (with a tolerance of ±5℃). With the spread of USB in the EU, the demand for fast charging and high-power cables is expected to further expand in the future. Additionally, due to the common charger directive in the EU in 2024, devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and headphones are required to be equipped with USB-C connectors. As fast charging increases the risk of heat generation, there is a growing demand for more advanced overheating protection features. The SE series meets all the requirements of USB Power Delivery to address this demand and has been newly developed to support the USB PD standard's maximum of 240W. The new SE series complies with the RoHS directive. BOURNS has improved resistance to humid environments by adopting its best-in-class corrosion-resistant bimetallic mechanism compared to standard TCO devices.
