In 1970, a "Polar PD-15 (commonly known as Compact-1)" was installed above the water supply pipe under the kitchen sink of Mr. Lynch's house in the UK as a scale prevention measure for the dishwasher, using a full-flow single-pass method. It has been in use for 16 years, and there has been absolutely no scale buildup, with no white calcium deposits anywhere. When compared to the dishwasher of a neighbor 20 meters away who does not have a Polar installed, the neighbor's dishwasher had scale removed in 1989, but two months later, scale reappeared on the device's floor, elements, and filter screen, resulting in a terrible condition.
