Successfully achieved stable combustion of ammonia dedicated burners. The first in the country as a burner with an integrated heat exchanger!
Shoei Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (President: Masataka Haba, hereinafter referred to as "Shoei Manufacturing") has successfully achieved stable combustion in ammonia-only combustion of a heat recovery burner with an integrated heat exchanger (the first of its kind in Japan) in collaboration with Daigas Energy Co., Ltd. (President: Hiroyoshi Fukutani, hereinafter referred to as "Daigas Energy"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. (President: Masataka Fujiwara). The mixing ratio with city gas has also been realized in the range of 0 to 100%, contributing to the decarbonization and low-carbonization in high-temperature fields such as aluminum manufacturing. At Shoei Manufacturing, we are working on the commercialization of next-generation fuel burners, such as hydrogen burners and ammonia burners, by applying the combustion technology and heat utilization technology we have cultivated so far. We will continue to refine decarbonization and low-carbonization technologies across various temperature ranges and contribute to the development of the manufacturing industry. (Note 1) Based on research by Daigas Energy as of February 2025 (Note 2) A burner equipped with a heat exchanger that achieves high-efficiency combustion by exchanging heat between combustion exhaust gas and combustion air (Note 3) The heat ratio of ammonia within the total heat of city gas and ammonia (mixing ratio of 0% = 100% city gas). Successful stable combustion has been achieved in both city gas-only and ammonia-only combustion.

Conducting aluminum melting tests using a hydrogen gas burner! (March 2024)
At Seiying Manufacturing, we are working on the development of aluminum industrial furnaces that can contribute to achieving carbon neutrality and a decarbonized society. Recently, we conducted aluminum melting tests using hydrogen gas burners in collaboration with customers aiming for carbon-neutral manufacturing. For the test furnace, we adopted the "SMH type" melting holding furnace, which generates extremely low amounts of oxides. The heat source consisted of a hydrogen-exclusive gas burner "EIS-H2" for melting and an electric heater for holding the molten aluminum, creating a hybrid configuration. In this melting test, we compared the "melting speed" and "aluminum molten quality" with those of an LPG combustion gas burner that was conducted beforehand. We will continue to analyze the detailed test results. For more details about this test furnace, please refer to the attached materials. Feel free to contact us regarding the implementation of the tests.

Developed a high-efficiency, low-NOx waste heat recovery hydrogen burner.
Together with Tokyo Gas and Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions, we have developed Japan's first hydrogen combustion recuperative burner (a burner with a built-in waste heat recovery device). (Sales are scheduled for October 2023.) By utilizing waste heat, we reduce fuel consumption and achieve zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions during combustion. This contributes to the decarbonization of industrial sectors that require high-temperature heat, such as melting holding furnaces and heat treatment furnaces in aluminum manufacturing, as well as torrefaction heating.
