Typically, tap processing is done in the post-process after press processing using dedicated tap machines to process one or multiple pieces simultaneously. However, when production volume is high, it becomes necessary to increase both the number of dedicated tap machines and the number of workers in the post-process. This leads to additional costs for equipment and labor, which can significantly increase overall costs. Furthermore, the unit cost of the product will include both press processing costs and tap processing costs, resulting in substantial expenses. There is a perception that tap-integrated progressive dies are expensive, but if there is a high production quantity expected to continue for several years, the product cost can essentially be covered by the cost of one punch of press processing, allowing for the die costs to be recouped in a relatively short period.
