Trivalent chromium plating
Features of Silvec's trivalent chromium plating
【Characteristics of Trivalent Chromium Plating】 1. The appearance is a white color similar to hexavalent chromium plating, but when compared, hexavalent chromium appears slightly bluish, while trivalent chromium looks darker. 2. The appearance of the underlying nickel plating is directly reflected in the appearance after trivalent chromium plating. For example, if you chrome plate a product with glossy nickel plating that has been buff-polished, you can achieve a mirror-like finish. Similarly, if you buff-polish the material and then chrome plate it with velour nickel plating, the velour's matte texture will remain visible. 3. Complies with RoHS directives. 4. It has good uniform electrocatalytic properties, allowing trivalent chromium plating to cover areas with difficult shapes for electricity to reach. 5. Barrel plating (rotational plating) is possible. 6. Methods: Barrel plating (rotational plating), using fixtures (static plating).
basic information
**What is Trivalent Chromium Plating?** Chromium plating, known for its beautiful white glossy appearance, high corrosion resistance, and excellent surface hardness, has been widely adopted for automotive parts, electrical products, and architectural hardware. However, it requires a jig set for plating, making it a process that cannot necessarily be considered cost-effective or productive. Additionally, the use of environmentally harmful hexavalent chromium compounds in the plating process has led some manufacturers, particularly those promoting green procurement, to avoid it in recent times. To address these issues, Silvex has made it possible to perform barrel plating with trivalent chromium, which has traditionally been considered difficult.
