Zinc-cobalt alloy plating
Features of Silvec's zinc-cobalt alloy plating
Features of Tin-Cobalt Alloy Plating 1. Barrel plating is possible as an alternative to chrome. 2. Although the coating hardness is lower compared to chrome plating, corrosion resistance and strength can be ensured by applying a nickel plating as a base. 3. The coating is resistant to discoloration, similar to chrome. 4. Tin-cobalt plating with good coverage is possible in barrels, even for complex shapes. 5. Complies with RoHS directives. 6. Method: Barrel plating (rotational plating)
basic information
Tin-Cobalt Alloy Plating Tin-Cobalt alloy plating (Sn-Co) is an alloy plating of tin and cobalt that is used as an alternative to hexavalent chromium plating due to its similarity in color tone to hexavalent chromium plating. Since barrel plating is possible, for small parts where the hardness of the chromium plating is not required, barrel plating can provide a chrome color at a lower cost than chromium plating. Compared to chromium plating, it has a higher uniform electrodeposition capability, allowing plating in areas such as blind holes where chromium plating may not adhere.
