Surface treatment "Anodizing" for rust prevention of aluminum die casting ADC12.
About the anodizing of Silvec's aluminum die-cast ADC12.
■ Corrosion Prevention for Aluminum Die Casting ADC12: Surface Treatment for Rust Prevention Silvec has extensive know-how in rust prevention treatments for aluminum die casting ADC12 and can provide original technology solutions. ■ Corrosion Resistance and Surface Treatment of Aluminum Die Casting ADC12 Aluminum die casting ADC12 is widely used, accounting for over 90% of the production ratio among aluminum die casting alloys, due to its excellent castability, mechanical properties, and machinability. However, its corrosion resistance is relatively poor compared to other aluminum die casting materials, and rust prevention treatment may be necessary depending on the application. The four representative treatments for rust prevention of aluminum die casting ADC12 are as follows: 1. Plating 2. Anodizing 3. Chemical treatment (trivalent chromate treatment) 4. Cationic electrodeposition coating
basic information
Aluminum die casting ADC12 is a type that has a high addition of copper (Cu) at 1.5 to 3.5% and silicon (Si) at 9.6 to 12%. Additionally, due to die casting-specific issues such as flow marks, pinholes, and variations in alloy ratios, it is a material with poor anodizing treatment properties (anodizing performance). Typically, anodizing provides very high corrosion resistance, but the anodizing of ADC12 generally does not offer good corrosion resistance. However, at Silvec's factory in Thailand, there is a dedicated anodizing line for die casting, allowing for the production of high corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum die casting ADC12 known as "HiC Anodize" using original technology.
