Case Study of Functional Characteristics Improvement of Silvec: Case 2
We will introduce examples of how we have solved the functional characteristics challenges faced by our customers and cases that have been adopted through VE proposals. Example 2: Nickel plating "Solderable Nickel Plating" with soldering strength equivalent to tin plating. ■ Company M related to electronic components A customer who was looking for a plating company that could provide nickel plating with solder wetting properties equivalent to tin for micro-sized components made of 42 alloy material to be soldered onto printed circuit boards without flux visited us through a recommendation from a chemical manufacturer. We proposed processing our "Solderable Nickel Plating" using barrel plating, conducted prototype trials, and received evaluations. We repeatedly tested various storage conditions before soldering, and consistently achieved stable high solder wetting properties, securing the desired soldering strength, which led to orders for mass production.
