FRP electric dust collector with fire prevention features
Achieving safe and secure operations with a track record of zero fire incidents for over 40 years.
General FRP electric dust collectors are flammable and pose risks of labor accidents, long-term operational shutdowns, and environmental damage to local residents. However, the FRP electric dust collectors we offer are equipped with a unique fire prevention feature, boasting an impressive safety record of zero fire incidents for over 40 years since their introduction. Our FRP electric dust collectors with fire prevention features achieve both long-term stable operation and safety. We can also provide detailed specifications and case studies, so please feel free to contact us.
basic information
The causes of fire in the FRP electric dust collector are considered to be as follows: 1. Heating due to charging at the exhaust gas contact area, including the dust collection electrode plates. 2. Dry condition of the dust collection electrode surface. 3. Heating due to continuous glow discharge. 4. Heating due to continuous sparks. This electric dust collector has implemented the following fire prevention measures: 1. The dust collection electrode plates are connected with conductive FRP instead of bolts, eliminating charging of the dust collection electrode plates due to bolt loosening. 2. Not only the dust collection electrode plates but also the casing and insulator chamber use conductive FRP to prevent charging at the exhaust gas contact area. 3. A spray nozzle for cleaning the dust collection electrode plates will trigger an alarm if it becomes clogged and the water flow drops below the set value. 4. It is equipped with a circuit that detects voltage drops due to continuous glow discharge and repeatedly cuts off the power supply until the voltage returns to normal. 5. It is equipped with a circuit that reduces the output voltage when a spark is detected and gradually restores it to the original voltage, preventing the occurrence of continuous sparks.

Applications/Examples of results
The dust collection plates and casing for highly corrosive exhaust gases are made of FRP instead of metal. While FRP is resistant to corrosion, it has the disadvantage of being flammable. To minimize the risk of fire, our FRP electric dust collectors are equipped with the aforementioned fire prevention measures as standard.
Detailed information
-
Generally, the dust collection plates of electric dust collectors are flat plates that are bolted to the grounding plates, preventing charging. However, if the bolts loosen due to vibration or deterioration, there is a risk of the dust collection plates becoming charged and causing a fire. In our electric dust collectors, the dust collection plates are connected to the grounding plates not with bolts, but with conductive FRP, eliminating the risk of charging due to loose bolts.

During operation, if the operating voltage drops below a threshold, it is considered abnormal discharge (glow discharge), and output will be cut off. After that, it will return to normal voltage, but if it does not return, the output will be cut off again. If it recovers during this time, operation will continue, but if it does not recover after a certain period, the control will stop operation due to low voltage abnormality. When a spark is detected, the power supply is cut off for about T1 (approximately 20 msec), the spark is removed, and charging is resumed at a voltage reduced by about 5% from the operating voltage, gradually returning the voltage to the operating level.
