Volvo Group and SSAB have signed a cooperation agreement regarding the research, development, continuous production, and commercialization of vehicles made from fossil-free steel. Volvo began manufacturing concept cars and machinery using SSAB's hydrogen-based steel in 2021. The two companies aim to collaborate on developing a number of steel products that do not use fossil fuels, with the goal of achieving continuous production within a few years.
