Coil homogenization using the CLN equivalent circuit method
We propose an efficient method for the homogenization of the Ritz method! We also introduce analysis examples.
In a non-contact power supply system, Litz wire is used to suppress the increase in coil AC resistance due to the skin effect and proximity effect in the high-frequency range. In finite element method analysis considering the eddy currents in Litz wire, it is necessary to mesh each winding with elements smaller than the skin depth, which results in an enormous number of meshes, making the analysis of practical problems difficult. Our proposed "CLN equivalent circuit method" is an efficient approach for the homogenization of Litz wire. This document demonstrates that by using this method for unit cell analysis, we can obtain equivalent computational results with significantly lower computational costs compared to finite element method-based approaches.
