Material 'Application of CLN Method to Ritz Line Analysis' *Currently available for free.

Development of a method for evaluating AC losses in Litz wire using electromagnetic field analysis - Significantly reducing computation time and the burden of mesh generation.

The eddy current equivalent circuit method (hereinafter referred to as the CLN method) is a technique that represents the eddy current field using an equivalent circuit (ladder circuit), significantly reducing the computational load. Our company has developed a method that allows for the evaluation of Ritz wires, which have been difficult to analyze using the finite element method due to the complexity of their system, by applying the CLN method in a realistic timeframe. In this method, the Ritz wire is first homogenized, and then the AC loss is determined through AC analysis using the finite element method. By employing the Biot-Savart CLN method for the homogenization calculation, it eliminates the need to create a mesh for the air region of the analysis model. Additionally, by using an automatic mesh generation tool, the burden of mesh creation is significantly reduced. 【Features】 - Homogenization calculation of Ritz wires using the Biot-Savart CLN method - Evaluation of AC loss through AC analysis of the finite element method using the results of homogenization - No need to create a mesh for the air region in the Biot-Savart CLN method - Automation of mesh creation (up to 4-strand twisting) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

basic information

【Benefits of Utilization】 In applications such as non-contact power supply and induction heating, Litz wire is used to suppress the increase in coil resistance due to the skin effect and proximity effect. However, until now, it has been difficult to evaluate AC losses in a realistic timeframe and cost. This method allows for the evaluation of AC losses in Litz wire from the design stage. As of now (August 2019), we do not offer this method as a tool, but we are already accepting commissioned analyses. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. 【Contact Information】 ●TEL: 03-3711-8900 ●E-mail: em_solution@ssil.co.jp
