● The genuine MC4-Evo 2 connector is a product from the MC4 family that has been used primarily in DC 1,500V solar power systems since its release by Stäubli (formerly Multi-Contact) in 2014. ● The main differences between the genuine MC4-Evo 2 connector and the genuine MC4 are as follows: - The MC4-Evo 2 is IEC / JET certified for 1,500V (MC4 is 1,100V). - The allowable rated current (IEC) is higher (e.g., Evo 2 is 4.0㎟: 45A / MC4 is 4.0㎟: 39A). - The size of the insulator and contact. - The material of the insulator (Evo 2 is all PA / MC4 is PC and PA). - The applicable conditions for connection cables (Evo 2 is Class 5 cable / MC4 can use Class 2 cable, but our recommendation is to use Class 5 cable for both MC4 and Evo 2).
