Mid-infrared + visible light simultaneous measurement - custom ATR fiber probe

It is a probe that can simultaneously measure two wavelength ranges.

Manufacturer: art photonics (Germany) art photonics has developed a multi-spectral optical fiber probe that enables simultaneous analysis of multiple liquid and solid samples using ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) mid-infrared spectroscopy and fluorescence methods. The design of this probe has been optimized for light propagation using ray tracing technology. It has been confirmed to match the performance of both visible and mid-infrared light probes. The ability to convey complementary chemical information from the measurement point has been tested with biological tissue samples. Quantitative analysis of biological tissues is one of the most important applications of this multi-spectral probe.

basic information

Overview Mid-infrared spectroscopy and fluorescence measurement differ significantly in terms of physical phenomena and wavelength regions in chemical analysis. Therefore, developing a probe that can accommodate both measurements is a challenging mission. The solution proposed by art is a design that can serve as a common interface for both measurement methods, based on the optical configuration of precise ATR crystals. This probe utilizes zirconia crystals, which have low inherent fluorescence, a high refractive index (close to that of diamond), and high transmittance in the spectral regions of both measurements (CIR fiber and UV silica fiber). The multispectral probe is highly practical and is an essential tool for analyzing complex heterogeneous samples, such as biological tissues, when there is a synergy effect in spectroscopic techniques. The multispectral probe is optimized as a measurement tool for various applications, serving as a new alternative for spectroscopic measurements in the laboratory.
