After introducing the sample into the measurement cell, several reagents are added to adjust the solution to the specified conditions (such as pH and oxidation state). Next, a blank measurement is performed to correct for the effects of temperature and turbidity. After that, the final reagent is added, causing a reaction in the solution that results in a color change. This color change is measured at the appropriate wavelength. By using a photometer, high measurement accuracy is achieved.
