SUWAMO was established as a hub for broad-based manufacturing support, with participation from six municipalities in the Suwa region, chambers of commerce, local businesses, and other stakeholders. Since then, it has developed a variety of initiatives as a business supporter in the Suwa region, starting with its initial major mission of operating the "Suwa Area Industrial Messe," followed by business matching services, human resource development, consortium activities, and collaboration among industry, government, academia, and finance. It has also received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the 7th Regional Industry Support Program Innovation Network Award 2018.
