Case Study of Multi-Purpose Electric Cart 'MITRA': Linear Equipment Inspection Robot
A case where JR Tokai utilized MITRA as a linear equipment inspection robot! Currently under development to improve the efficiency of equipment inspection and maintenance operations.
We would like to introduce a case where our multi-purpose electric cart 'MITRA' was utilized by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) as the linear equipment inspection robot 'Minervα'. 'Minervα' is a prototype equipment inspection robot that automatically conducts visual inspections of various mechanical facilities supporting the operation of the superconducting linear train, aimed at improving the efficiency of inspection and maintenance operations. Starting from February 2026, we will conduct on-site verification, including functionality confirmation, at the Yamanashi Linear Experimental Line with three companies, leading to improved efficiency in future equipment inspection and maintenance operations. 【Features】 ■ First adoption of Suzuki's multi-purpose electric cart 'MITRA' in the railway industry Capable of off-road travel and equipped with a robotic arm for multi-angle inspections ■ First adoption of PAD's software package '@mobi' in the railway industry Achieves autonomous movement and automates visual inspections with arm control and automatic charging ■ Consideration for design aesthetics Features a cover design inspired by Doctor Yellow ▼ Many examples of MITRA's utilization are currently available on the special website! For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
