I tried CT scanning the ceramic print model.
[Mitarepo] Thorough examination of 3D printed ceramics! We tried CT scanning! | System Create
Mitarepo is a series that introduces what can be done using various products with the concept of "I tried doing this!" We deliver useful information each time from the wide range of product genres handled by System Create. In Vol. 112, we investigated what happens to the printed model of the newly introduced ceramic material Alumina 4N after CT scanning and firing. The material Alumina 4N has joined the light-curing printer Form 4. In Mitarepo Vol. 106, we introduced the process from modeling to primary firing, and now we have been able to perform secondary firing! While firing has always been necessary for traditional ceramic creation, what happened to the printed model that was solidified with UV-curable resin after firing? This time, we conducted a CT scan to thoroughly analyze the model that shrank due to high-temperature firing. Is the resin properly removed? Are there any differences compared to conventional ceramics? We will explain these points of interest along with observations of the model, measurement values, and images of the printed model. *You can download the materials from the button below.

I would be grateful if this could serve as a hint for those interested in prototyping ceramic parts or creating complex-shaped components that are difficult to process.
