We would like to introduce a case of buildup on a plastic molding die. The mold has a texture applied to the entire recessed area, resulting in very thin texture burrs. In argon welding, secondary shrinkage tends to occur at the boundary, and buildup also occurs on the surrounding texture, requiring re-texturing. Buildup repairs using the "Depo Series" electrical discharge coating and buildup device do not cause thermal effects (warping or shrinkage) and do not melt the mold material, preventing these issues from occurring.
