The sensor uses aluminum oxide as its material and detects and measures the electrical capacitance of water molecules. It has a higher sensitivity than polymer sensors and can detect trace amounts of moisture, but its response speed is inferior. It is commonly used in applications such as semiconductors, glove boxes, and battery manufacturing in environments with consistently low dew points.
