Especially when removing water from wide products, a large amount of air and a certain length of air knife are necessary. In other words, generating air incurs significant costs. Sonic Corporation's blower utilizes a centrifugal blower, capable of producing a large volume of air. This blower operates at low horsepower and can generate airflow equivalent to or greater than that of a compressor. This large volume of air creates high-speed air from Sonic Corporation's tear-drop shaped air knife, which disrupts surface tension. This is how water removal/drying is achieved. The electrical cost at that time is about 1/4 of the cost required for compressed air to produce the same volume of air.
