Reed switch / switch sensor Reed switch
Challenging product development and production technology development for the next generation, including unique production technology for reed switches, state-of-the-art production equipment, and a diverse range of products.
The reed switches manufactured by Standex Electronics have no standby power and are unaffected by external environments. Our reed switches possess extremely high quality due to the adoption of our unique technology, including contact surface passivation treatment, high-performance automatic sealing machines, and contact resistance measurement technology using the flux scanning method (FS method), and they hold a top share in the world market. Additionally, we offer a diverse lineup that can be selected according to the customer's applications and purposes, ranging from low-voltage signal lines to high-voltage power lines. The contact materials used include platinum group metals such as rhodium and ruthenium, which have high melting points and hardness, demonstrating excellent wear resistance, anti-sticking properties, and corrosion resistance. As application products, we also offer various magnetic sensors, including the MK24 series, which is among the world's smallest, as well as float sensors.
basic information
Ultra Micro: 7mm ORD213, ORD311 Micro: 10-14mm ORD211, ORD219, ORD221 (Offset), ORD228VL, ORT551 (Transfer) Small: 16-21mm ORD2211 (Lamp Load) Small: 21mm ORD229 (High Voltage Resistance) ORD2210V (Vacuum High Voltage Resistance) Operating Principle of Reed Switch A reed switch operates by the induction of N and S poles on the reeds by a coil or permanent magnet, and it is activated by this magnetic attraction. Additionally, when the magnetic field is removed, the elasticity of the reeds causes the contacts to return to their original state, opening the circuit.
