Yesterday was the last day of the lunar calendar. Today is New Year's Day. In the Chinese-speaking world, the seven days from New Year's Eve are holidays and the most important event of the year. For me, in my 19th year in Japan, it is a melancholic seven days that makes me feel homesick. However, no matter how lonely I feel, my appetite remains the same.
