[Coating Example] TiN Film Coating on Stainless Steel Products
"I want to utilize vacuum technology in more familiar items and spread it!" Introduction of collaborative product development examples.
We received an inquiry from a company related to vacuum equipment located in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, asking if we could collaborate on product development. Originally, we were engaged in the sale of components and equipment for vacuum deposition machines used for film formation, but we resonated with their passion to "utilize vacuum technology to promote more accessible products!" As a result, we decided to pursue joint product development with the aim of acquiring new customers. In particular, they showed great interest in TiN film coating, which has a gold appearance and adds a sense of luxury, as well as its higher corrosion resistance and longevity compared to stainless steel. This led us to process TiN film on everyday products. We started prototyping with common tableware such as spoons and forks. We found that the jigs used for attaching to the spoons and forks tended to leave marks, so we considered improvements to prevent jig marks from remaining. *For more detailed information about this case, please refer to the related links.
