[Coating Example] TiN Film Coating on Aluminum Mold
I would like to present an example of something that has previously adhered as a type of adhesion but has now stopped sticking.
We received an inquiry from a company in Saitama Prefecture that manufactures molds, requesting a titanium nitride coating on aluminum molds to improve release properties during resin molding. They use a method called vacuum forming, where a plastic sheet is first heated with a heater to soften it. The sheet is then set into the mold, and air is evacuated from between the product and the mold through holes in the mold. At this time, a device called a vacuum pump is used. As the vacuum pump removes the air, a vacuum is created between the product and the mold, causing them to adhere closely. After that, the product is cooled to solidify the plastic, the vacuum is released, and the product is removed from the mold. *For more details about this case, please refer to the related links.
